We introduced the children to the Food Dudes programme last week.
Food dudes is an award winning healthy eating programme developed to encourage children to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables both in school and at home. This programme is based on providing positive role models, repeated tasting and receiving rewards.
The children were introduced to the food dude characters Tom, Rocco, Raz and Charlie. They will see them go on many adventures over the coming weeks.
The pupils in our school already arrive daily with wonderful healthy lunches but this programme is also providing additional opportunities for our pupils to talk about the importance of food choices and healthy lifestyles for a healthy body and mind.
We are in Phase 1. This phase is designed to encourage behaviour change and increase fruit and vegetable consumption. Over the next 16 days the children will be provided with fruits and vegetables in school daily. They will watch episodes of the character’s adventures and receive stickers and rewards to promote tasting and eating of a variety of fruits and vegetables.
